Services

Preform is a specialist in thin sheet metal processing and the manufacture of advanced components.

Laser cutting

Our fiber laser makes us competitive and efficient in the market due to its flexibility and high quality processing method. The machine cuts formats up to 3000 x 1500 mm, max 20 mm in carbon steel and 20 mm in stainless steel.

The technology offers incredible possibilities in terms of design, capacity and material selection, laser technology is also capable of cutting shapes and forms that no other method could achieve.

Laser cutting is used for both thin and thick materials. The advantages of using laser technology for cutting thin and hard materials are that there is no risk of the material breaking under the pressure of punching tools.

With laser cutting, it’s much easier to cut straight, fine lines and complex contours. The technology is capable of rapid changeovers or dimensional changes, making production very flexible. With laser cutting, the material does not need to be reworked, which saves a lot of time, and because the cut is narrow, no expensive metal is lost.

In conclusion, the use of laser cutting provides Speed and High Precision.

Punching

Punching is a method of making holes in relatively thin material. The method involves pushing a tool (punch) with the desired shape of the hole through the material under counter-holding pressure from a cushion. The punch and pad have ground edges with the same contour as the punched object. The method should ensure that no breakage can occur around the cut surface

Our punching machine provides a very high process speed and the processing time is very short. The machine offers extremely fast punching and the possibility to shape, thread or perform some bending. Material thickness processed is up to 4 mm in stainless steel and up to 8 mm in carbon steel and aluminium.

Edge pressing

Edge pressing is the method mainly used when forming sheet metal parts, as this technique is designed specifically for thin metals. The technique is also called edge bending and is a subcategory of bending, one of modern industry’s most widespread and flexible techniques for bending metals of all kinds into all kinds of shapes. Thanks to the adaptation of this technology to thin sheet metal parts, the flexible design of the sheet metal can now be fully exploited.

Machining

Machining in 3-axis and 5-axis CNC controlled multi-operation machines, enabling the production of detailed and complex components. CNC milling offers fast machining and repeatability and high production capacity.

Surface treatment

Our powder plant is equipped with an advanced pre-treatment to provide state-of-the-art rust protection. The products are treated with Oxsilan for the best possible corrosion protection with a much lower environmental impact. Our new modern paint box offers high flexibility, fast colour changes and short set-up times.

As a partner to several large industries, both in Sweden and abroad, Preform AB has specialised in powder coating that can meet high demands.

Our finishing facility has a 5-step wash and a modern Wagner paint booth. It offers high flexibility, fast colour changes and short set-up times. We coat steel, aluminium and galvanised steel. Of course, the surface treatment is chrome-free.

If your product requires a different type of coating, e.g. zinc coating, we also arrange this through our partners.

Max cargo size H1300 x L2000 x W600 mm.

Welding / Robotic welding

We perform several types of welding work such as Mig and Tig welding according to 3834-2. In our welding department, we carry out work in both thin sheet metal and in heavier materials, in stainless, aluminum and steel quality.

Mounting

Today, we assemble complex and detailed components that require a high level of technical expertise, all to further shorten your lead times. We have flexible assembly stations that can both partially and fully assemble your products.
